TALL SHIP
The “Jolly Breeze of St. Andrews” Tall Ship is fully Transport Canada Certified and passes a
thorough inspection each year. She is approved to carry up to 46 passengers and 3 crew. Captain
and crew are qualified personnel in their respective professions. There are both adult and child
life jackets on board as well as two life rafts. The solid steel guard rail up the adult hip, and a life
line above that rail, allows guests to walk freely on deck.
She is equipped with modern safety systems, advanced navigational tools and an emergency
position locator.
A low emission engine–supported by the ships sails– is used to propel the ship. This is done to ensure
there is adequate time to reach the feeding grounds of the whales. The engine plus sails allows
for a smooth quiet ride, however, if the whales are feeding in one area, then the engine may be
turned off to allow for a sailing adventure, wind permitting of course.
Guests need to understand that there are inherent risks with boating.
This may include but is not limited to tripping and falling, back or spine injury, equipment
failure, perils of the sea, acts of other participants, adverse sea and weather conditions,
encounters with wildlife whose behaviour in the natural environment cannot be predicted or
controlled.
The boat tours are on the water and there will be limited and delayed access to medical services.
Guests need to bring any required medication with them and take appropriate precautions.
From the moment you board our floating home, your comfort, safety and enjoyment is our goal.
